Don Pyle’s photo book Trouble In The Camera Club launches at The Garrison, 1197 Dundas St. West, on Wed May 4 2011, in Toronto. Presented by This Is Not A Reading Series and the book’s publisher ECW Press, the show begins at 8pm with a photo slideshow narrated by DP, featuring images from the book as well as unseen photos of Viletones, Teenage Head, The Ugly, Diodes and more. A short Q+A moderated by Treat Me Like Dirt author Liz Worth follows. A rare live performance by The Ugly will be sure to clear the chairs, and there may or may not be more guests.
The book is out May 1 and will be available at the launch. A Limited Special Edition of the book which includes a black vinyl 7″ of period audio artifacts will also be available, along with an edition of one hundred 18″ x 24″ silk screen poster prints of the book’s original cover photo.
Admission is $8, or $25 including a copy of Trouble In The Camera Club/$30 with Limited Special Edition version.

What do I have to do to get on the guest list?
I’m too young to have witnessed the first wave of punk in Toronto, but after having read Liz’s book and reading up on the history I’m super excited to get a copy of your book to see more of it in photos. I’m marking this event on my calendar and hoping to pick up a limited edition copy at the show! Yes!
Thanks, Adam – see you there!
I posted a review in Amazon.com. Shame I could not get the limited 7″. I edon’t know how many they had but the site says they have two left. Hope you sell a lot..
I don’t think Amazon ever had the Ltd. Ed. version. There are still plenty and will be sold at the launch, from the book website and at Rotate This and Soundscapes in Toronto. I expect there will be few left after the launch on May 4. Thanks for the review!
Congratulations Don on your book. I can’t wait to get a copy at the show.
